What the Butler saw!

A sincere thank you to everyone who packed out The Butler in Reading on Saturday night. Opening with Grendel set the tone immediately. That unmistakable sweep of early Marillion, channelling the theatrical intensity of the Fish era, felt entirely at home in a room ready to travel back to that singular moment in progressive rock history.

A sell-out show is always gratifying. What made this one resonate so deeply was the focus in the room and the generosity of the response. From the intricate dynamics to the grand, emotionally charged refrains, the audience met every shift with total commitment. The storytelling spirit synonymous with Fish-era Marillion was alive and well, carried not just from the stage but echoed back from the floor.

There was a palpable sense of shared celebration throughout the evening, a reminder of why this music continues to endure and why these songs still command such devotion decades on. Thank you for making it such a memorable night.

The road now leads to Kent. On Saturday 7th March the band takes the stage at The Booking Hall, Dover. Doors open at 7pm.

If Reading proved anything, it is that these gatherings are becoming essential dates for anyone who holds that era of Marillion close to the heart.
